NY同時多発テロの日の日記です。

 大学から家への帰りの様子です。

After I left the campus, I first went to the gas station to refill the gas. It was open as usual.

When I left the gas station and was waiting at a trafic light, I realized someone in front of me honking horn. I didn't know why? The light was still RED.

I looked at the guy suspiciously. He pointed me first and then to his right. So I looked my left and realized I was on the right side of the road, which is the opposite of where I was supposed to be.

I gave him a sign waving my hand and said "Sorry." And I moved to the left lane. Seemed like I was still out of my mind.

10 minutes drive from there, I was at the entarance of a highway, R495. It was closed... A sign said "DETOUR" I was kinda paniced a little bit. I'd never gone home w/o using highway.

I called Sam and asked how he went home since he left campus earlier. Maybe a couple of hours earlier. He told me that all highway were totally closed for ambulance, fire truck, and police car. He also told me that he had to go home w/o highway and the traffic was so heavy, so he was just only a half way.

So, I headed to my apartment in Astoria, Queens. I turned on the radio and tried to pick up any news regarding the attack. Still I couldn't find who were behind it, but had to know there would be expected a large number of casualties, tens of thousands possibly.

On my way home, I felt it was like forever.

It took more than 4hrs to get home. (for just 17-20miles) 8:30 PM now.

I arrived at my apartment at last and walked up stairs to fifth floor for my room.

It was a very long drive, but I do not remember anything clearly.
